Flogas climbs five places in top Leicestershire business ranking
21/06/2019
We’re very pleased to announce that Flogas has once again been named as a leading Leicestershire business by local media favourite, The Leicester Mercury – climbing five places to number 25 in the newspaper’s 2019 Top 200 Companies List.
Compiled exclusively for The Leicester Mercury by the business team at De Montfort University, the list brings together Leicestershire’s biggest businesses by turnover. Flogas has climbed from position 30 in 2018 to join some of the UK’s best-known brands in the top 25 this year, including household names like Walkers, Caterpillar (UK), Next and Sytner Group.
Joining Leicestershire’s leaders in the Top 25
Lee Gannon, Flogas Britain’s Managing Director, comments: “We’re incredibly proud to be a Leicestershire business, and to have jumped an impressive five places to number 25 in this year’s Leicester Mercury Top 200 Companies List. The ranking brings together the brightest and best of local enterprise, and to be included alongside some of the big-hitting businesses that are putting Leicestershire on the map is a real honour.
“The news that we have climbed so far up the list in 2019 is testament to the huge growth we’ve seen in the past 12 months – both in the domestic market and in providing tailored LPG and LNG solutions for commercial and industrial customers. Securing growth on this scale has not only helped support the local economy, it’s enabled us to continue to give back to the community in Leicestershire and the surrounding areas. We hope to keep making a positive difference locally and nationally over the next year – particularly as we see the immediate rollout of our 2040 Vision plans for a lower-carbon future for homes and businesses across the UK.”
Looking to the future with secure LPG supply
Here at Flogas Britain, we currently employ more than 1,100 people (300 of these at our Syston head office). Our success in the 2019 Top 200 Companies List follows news that Flogas has been given planning permission to convert the former National Grid LNG site at Avonmouth into a large-scale LPG storage terminal. The conversion will significantly increase our LPG storage capability, and is set to play a central part in delivering affordable, efficient LPG energy to applications nationwide.
